Passions & Obsessions : Ideas
June 22 2011.
So, I've finaly found some ideas of different starting points for this project. In fact, I've made a list.. but instead of listing it all here's how I came to decide what i really want to do as my project...
-passsions and obsessions..Games, Fashion? People? sport?
-Typography? Illustration?
-Illustration...
-Games, illustrate.. addiction to games, process of becoming addicted, the social effects, Alternate peronas
-Alternate persona (not necessary to do with games..)... what causes alternate personas-addiction does, examples of different of personas, illustrating alternate personas... maybe link it to the orginal idea later...
Passions & Obsessions : First Impressions
June 13 2011.A2 Graphics project: Passions & Obsessions.
The theme for my unit 3 project is, as you can see, Passions & Obsessions. And, basically, thats a tough one. I've taken some, if not, a lot of thought into this and to be honest... I have no idea where to start.
I decided to start to think about my passions and obsessions. and to be honest I dont dont actually have any- or thats what I'm just saying. So, instead, I decided to try and find out the differences and common ground between a Passion and an Obsession. I find this quite difficult as most people would say they are "Things that you really like"..
Obviously a passion is something you really like.. but to put in more detail, something that you possibly like and do everyday, or something you cant live without. But, then again so is an obsession. Gah this is hard. Okay, so a passion is something that someone likes a lot but can be deemed as 'normal'. For example, on T.V people are allways saying they have a passion for football, cooking, learning, sports and so on. So basically, some form of hobby or something in that general area.
An obsession is sort of the opposite.. but not. lets say that an obsession is something you like a lot but it would be deemed not 'normal' or something to be frowned upon - yet this is not allways the case. So for an example: People/ Individuals, games and possibly certain vampire films - not implying anything.
All this writing (typing to be precise) and I have only have a few ideas. Here they are:
Obsession - Gaming: So I hear this is a real problem in todays society, mainly among kids and teenagers. Maybe design a pamphlet about this? sounds fun .
Passion - Sports: Not as good as the one above but still something.
Obsession - Stalking: Really, who hasn't though about this one when they tought about obsession
